A LIZARD IN MY MANGO TREE

lizrdSM

This morning I saw a lizard in my mango tree.

I didn’t notice him at first, but there he be.

He blended in well; you had to look closely,

We were both startled, but probably him mostly.

He was far out on the end of a weaker limb.

His chances of going anywhere but down were slim.

And that is exactly what he did the closer my camera came.

He went splat on the patio below, appearing rather lame.

But wait, as far as I could tell he wasn’t hurt at all.

He scampered off right away to where the grass is tall.

Then I lost sight of him and where he went I could not see.

Having a lizard in my mango tree became just a memory.
