    2020 was a leap year. Would that it could have been literally so — and you and we and the country could have leaped the sorry experience and gone straight from 2019 to 2021. When we yell happy new year, we MEAN it. Could it be worse? Or as you, the poet in reticence, would say, could it be verse?
