I have been away for a few days. Did you miss me. No, I didn’t pick up on that either, but it makes no nevermind. I had a good time. My wife and I attended the wedding of a good friend. It was held right on the beach at sunset. Picture perfect. We all stayed at a really nice gazillion diamond resort and ate and ate and ate and… I noticed there were no scales anywhere in sight. It’s like looking for a clock in a casino. They want you eat, drink and be merry. Weighing yourself could put a damper on their expectations, not to mention their kitchen profits.
Where were we? Oh, I guess that is a legit question. We were on Marco Island which is a resort town on the southwest coast of Florida, right on the Gulf of Mexico as it laps up onto the beautiful white sandy beach of the island.
The groom’s family flew in from Buffalo, New York, one of the coldest and snowiest cities in the USA. Imagine how they all felt as they left behind snow shovels and stalled cars and traded them in for beach umbrellas and balmy breezes. I bet some of them migrate back here permanently in the next few years. It is hard to resist once you’ve chipped ice on your car’s windshield and shivered and chattered waiting for the heater to warm up for the car’s slide to work.
We got home this afternoon. Bill the dog yelped and yelped and jumped up and down in excitement as we reentered his life. Toni the cat could hardly take notice. She sniffed my hand and went back up on the sofa to continue her nap. My kind of cat.
Okay, back to the routine; you too! We’re all just keep’n on keep’n on. This will eventually get us somewhere…just don’t know yet exactly where.
