It’s nearing the end of June.

Half a year is gone so soon.

From both ends the months pull,

Is the year half empty or half full?

Before you know it, it’ll be autumn

The year then gains in momentum.

Leaves will turn and then be gone.

A chilly frost appears at dawn.

Soon the holidays are here once more.

Didn’t I just take the wreath off the door?

And so it goes month after month, year after year.

Causing even some best memories to disappear.

Time keeps moving; it really needs no clock.

Just peer out the door; hear its rhythmic tick tock.

Books by Marc Kuhn: THE POPE’S STONE, an historical novel that follows two descendants of a Virginia family who, despite living a century apart, share uncanny similarities in their lives; NEVER GOOSE A MOOSE, a collection of whimsical verse featuring thought-provoking “never-do’s” that children should beware of; and ABOUT A FARM, a children’s book about challenges we all face every day, regardless of where we live. All three books are available at amazon.com and each has its own .com website under its title.

  1. Marc Kuhn says:

Haven’t been birding lately. I like tigers. I wonder if one can go tigering…though I suspect it’s a little more dangerous.

  2. Leonor L Torres says:

I like your poem. Time does fly, and the older we get the faster it goes.
    Say hello to Rosemarie.
Have you gone birding with Myra and Ken again?
    They really love birds…
