So here it is, just another day of nothingness.
I’ve come to take them for granted more or less.
They all start with the alarm clock ringing.
They all end with a lullaby’s singing.
In between is when most things are to happen
But with nothing going on, I’m prone to nappin’.
That leads to my being up all night still doing nothing.
If I threaten to do anything I’m suspected of bluffing.
It seems to be a pattern, a cycle if you may
That turns the hours into nothing every day.
It can be repetitious and a bit of a bore.
There’s barely nothing to do, nothing more.
I’ve given a lot of thought searching for something new,
I’ve come up with nothing on my own; I haven’t a clue.
I looked for a job but I was confused and misled.
I was told nothing’s open; go elsewhere instead.
But if nothing was open that made no sense to me.
Nothing is what I do; the job fit me perfectly.
With all my knowledge about nothing I could offer advice,
Maybe tell folks who have everything how nothing is nice.
Trouble is, I’m not so sure I buy that argument;
I really sense there’s nothing it can supplement.
So I sit here relegated to huffing and puffing,
Writing this blog everyday that’s all about nothing.
